The Wandering fire by Guy Gavriel Kay
This reviewer, having been an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy for many years, has been frustrated recently by a spate of material produced by games makers.
There is so little there for the imagination. "Writing to be read" is so
different from "writing to be played."
Thank goodness, therefore, for a really well written modern fantasy. Of course,
Kay is an award winning writer and in this case, all of the glowing critical
comments by writing greats is justified.
It adds to the pleasure if one has read the first book in this trilogy, but this
book stands alone very happily. Probably the best way to sum it up is to quote the
review from the Star - Phoenix newspaper " A passionate battle between good and
evil...it delights the spirit ". Truly it does.
Recommended for any fantasy reader. Brilliant story, beautfully written.
