Complete relaxation, a good coffee and a reread of Barry Crump.
It just doesn't get any better than that. Even if you've not read the "Crump man"
before, please read this gorgeous book. It's been so long [over 40 years] since
Crump's heyday and as a people, we have become more sophisticated [or so we are
told] but that all vanishes once you get into his world.
A man in the New Zealand backblocks and the Australian outback, complete with
rifle, a bit of number 8 fencing wire and in some cases, a large dose of B---s---
and the world is your oyster. Great stuff.
Nowadays the pundits tell us this world never was. Tough. It's great to read
about. The little man always gives things a go; the townie doesn't have a look in
vis - a vis the country man and every thing is black and white. Ah, those were the
days, my friend.
Nostalgia rules. thoroughly recommended for everyone.
