Book of the WeekContemporary Papier MacheThe end of the year is looming large and thoughts of creating little, meaningful gifts are foremost. Gilat Nadivi gives us some wonderful ideas in Contemporary papier mache. After studying fine arts she embarked on a career as an artist running her own studio and now teaching students of all ages how to work with papier mache. Papier mache she considers an easy to use and environmentally-friendly craft form. She also promotes it as a tactile and therapeutic craft which invites the creative self to blossom in all of us. Her projects utilize not only left-over paper products but also other cast-off props such as plastic drink bottles, chopsticks and empty cardboard tubes. Around these she creates colourful jewelry, funky animal figurines, bowls and picture frames. I so like this lady’s work. 6 October 2008 Main Navigation: | About Us | Members | Searching | Maori Resources | Kid Space | Teen Zone | What's New
