Book of the WeekVoices from VietnamLast June several thousand Vietnam vets converged on Wellington for the Tribute 08 reunion. It was a privilege to be present when the sacrifice and commitment of all of the men and women who served overseas was formally recognised by New Zealand. Voices from Vietnam: the stories of New Zealanders who served their country in Vietnam by Billy Barnz is part of that recognition. This book contains the personal stories and recollections of 34 of the men who served. Tales of bravery and heroism as well as a good dose of Kiwi humour and nostalgia are within these covers. Intended as a celebration of the men who served, there are many stories that remain untold, but this book provides a unique insight into the extraordinary group of people who were our Kiwi boys in Vietnam. The ‘official’ history may be written elsewhere but these stories are as real as it gets. 28 August 2008 Main Navigation: | About Us | Members | Searching | Maori Resources | Kid Space | Teen Zone | What's New
