Martha Stewart's cookies
I find it hard to ignore a new cookbook and Martha Stewart’s Cookies provides a mid-winter temptation for any baker.
The book is beautifully presented providing as much a visual feast as the promise of a sweet treat. I particularly like the organization of her recipes into such clusters as Light and delicate, Soft and chewy, Crisp and crunchy and of course Rich and dense. Many of the recipes are simple but with a little of something special added, either in ingredient or decoration. Dark chocolate cookies with sour cherries, hazelnut orange shortbread, macadamia-maple sticky bars … .very yummy! The book is completed with some lessons in decoration and gift wrapping
