Book of the WeekChange of HeartChange of heart by Jodi Picoult exceeded my expectations, my reaction was WOW!
June Nealon lost her husband and daughter in a double murder which was committed by Shay Bourne. Shay was convicted and sentenced to die by lethal injection. One of the jurors that sent Shay to death row was a young student called Michael. Eleven years later Michael who is now a priest has become Shay’s spiritual advisor, as Shay waits for his execution. There is a twist to the story as June was pregnant at the time of the murders and now her daughter is in desperate need of a heart transplant, and Shay wants to donate his heart to her. What follows is a roller coast ride as those who are caught up in Shay’s quest have to question their beliefs, and confront issues from their past. This is one of Jodi Picoults best and you will be surprised by the twists and turns.
