A woman in red by Eileen Goudge
Alice Kessler returns home after spending 9 years in prison for the attempted murder of Owen Wilson, the drunk driver who killed her 8 year old son, and finds much has changed.
Woman in red is Eileen Goudge's latest novel. Alice Kessler returns home
after spending 9 years in prison for the attempted murder of Owen Wilson,
the drunk driver who killed her 8 year old son, and finds much has changed. Her husband Randy has divorced her and Wilson, who is now in a wheelchair, is mayor of Gray's Island, Washington. Wilson is out for revenge. He uses his infirmity to garner support against Alice, but she doesn't truly realize how far he is prepared to go until her surviving son, Jeremy is falsely accused of rape. Struggling to clear her son's name, Alice has to rely on one of the few people brave enough to stand up to Wilson, former district attorney and grieving widower, Colin McGinty.
This is a beautiful story about one woman's efforts to rebuild her shattered life after losing just about everything that matters when justice goes so badly wrong.
