New Zealand for free by Linda Duncan

Part of the excitement of the coming new season is in exploring possibilities for the summer holidays with still plenty of time to prepare. New Zealand for free is Linda Duncan'€™s guide to N. Z.'s best free attractions and activities.

Linda with her husband and three children discovered that the most memorable family holidays were those where they did things on a very tight budget. When she looked for a book about such holidays she found there was none and so decided to publish one herself. Beginning at Cape Reinga and working south this book is jam packed with suggestions of free campsites, scenic walkways and sites of historic interest which can be included in your plans. Waitarere forest with it’s 'large number of forest tracks suitable for mountain biking' is even included and other such opportunities around the country. Her challenge is to not be put off a holiday by the cost, but to get creative and enjoy many of the simple pleasures that our land offers absolutely free.
